Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has named his team for tonight’s match away to Livingston in the Scottish League Cup, as per rangers.co.uk.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Helander, Barisic; Kamara, Jack, Aribo; Ojo, Morelos, Arfield.

Substitutes – Foderingham, Katic, Halliday, King, Davis, Stewart, Defoe.

The fixture is an opportunity for the Gers to extend their unbeaten run to four matches after a positive return from the international break.

Gerrard and his team have firmly put the derby defeat to Celtic in their rear view mirror and will be desperate to progress to a Hampden semi-final in this competition.

The League Cup should be seen as a big priority for the club.

If they can set the tone with an early trophy win then it could push them on to go and achieve even more in the second half of the campaign.

The Ibrox boss, as a result, has gone with a very strong team for the fixture.

There’s no rest for big stars like Alfredo Morelos or James Tavernier, with Gerrard clearly seeing this as a must win game.

The selection is a real statement of intent and Rangers fans can likely look forward to an aggressive and forward thinking display in Livingston.

Gerrard apparently respects to the opposition, feeling they are good enough to cause some sort of an upset. They performed well at Ibrox recently and will be no pushovers.

The only changes come in the form of Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara, who replace Brandon Barker and Steven Davis.

Under the lights, live on TV and with a cup atmosphere, it’s set to be a fascinating evening at Almondvale.
