Rangers will take on Wigan Athletic at Ibrox in a pre-season friendly match this afternoon.

The 2018-19 campaign has already started for Rangers, who have been playing in the Europa League qualifiers over the past few weeks.

Steven Gerrard’s side were in action on Thursday evening, as they took on NK Osijek away from home in the first leg of the Europa League Qualifying Second round tie.

Rangers will be hoping to get a positive result and produce a strong display against Wigan at Ibrox this afternoon.

This is how Rangers will line up against Wigan at Ibrox, including star striker Alfredo Morelos and Greg Docherty.

Docherty has been linked with a move away from Rangers in the summer transfer window, with The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, July 29, 2018) claiming that the Gers will allow the 21-year-old midfielder to join Shrewsbury on loan (click here to read more).

Meanwhile, Wigan winger Kal Naismith has praised the Rangers fans.

The 26-year-old, who moved to the Latics earlier this summer, started his professional club football career at Rangers and was on the books of the Gers until 2013.

Naismith told The Wigan Post: “I’ve played at some big grounds and some big crowds but Ibrox…it’s very good…very, very good, amazing in fact.

“I’d been to games as a fan as a kid in the Champions League and the atmosphere was amazing. But even playing in games in the third division, we were getting crowds of over 40,000, it was crazy.”
