Rangers take on Northern Irish side Linfield in a friendly this afternoon as the Gers look to gear up for the Old Firm derby next weekend.
The Gers went in to the international break with a 1-1 draw away at Kilmarnock, meaning they have avoided defeat in each of their first four league games, but have dropped four points so far.
With the Old Firm derby against Celtic coming up next weekend, Rangers felt they needed a friendly to keep themselves sharp, so have headed to Linfield to take part in Jamie Mulgrew’s testimonial.
Mark Warburton has named a strong side for today’s clash at Windsor Park, with deadline day signing Philippe Senderos handed a start in defence having joined the club earlier this week.
Playing in front of backup goalkeeper Matt Gilks, Senderos partners Rob Kiernan in the heart of defence, with Andy Halliday given a chance to play at left back in the absence of Lee Wallace.
Josh Windass starts having been out through injury of late, and joins veterans Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar in midfield, with Harry Forrester and Kenny Miller flanking new signing Joe Garner in attack.
Martyn Waghorn is back on the bench having been ruled out with injury since the opening day of the season, and joins Wes Foderingham, Clint Hill, David Bates and Michael O’Halloran.
