Rangers take on Kilmarnock at Ibrox this evening, days after their Betfred Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen…

Rangers starting line-up: Foderingham; Tavernier, Goldson, Worrall, Flanagan; Halliday, Coulibaly, Arfield; Candeias, Kent, Morelos.

Rangers substitutes: McGregor, Katic, Jack, Rossiter, Grezda, Middleton, Lafferty.

Rangers lost 1-0 to Aberdeen on Sunday, and boss Steven Gerrard has been demanding a response from his players in the build-up to tonight’s game.

The Gers were disappointing at Hampden Park and must not let the result derail their season, and need to hit back with a strong performance against Kilmarnock tonight.

The first surprise comes with Wes Foderingham starting in goal, as Allan McGregor has been dropped to the bench, seemingly being rested after playing regularly ever since his arrival.

James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Joe Worrall and Jon Flanagan again make up the back four, but Andy Halliday comes in to start in holding midfield in place of Ryan Jack.

Lassana Coulibaly partners the returning Scott Arfield in central midfield, with Ovie Ejaria unavailable through injury, whilst Daniel Candeias and Ryan Kent start out wide.

Alfredo Morelos returns to the starting line-up to lead the line having been suspended against Aberdeen, with Kyle Lafferty back among the substitutes after being cup-tied on Sunday.

Lafferty joins Jack, McGregor, Nikola Katic, Jordan Rossiter, Eros Grezda and Glenn Middleton on the Rangers bench this evening, with no place in the squad for Umar Sadiq.
