Rangers take on Heart of Midlothian at Ibrox this evening.

Rangers starting XI: McGregor; Tavernier, Worrall, Goldson, Flanagan; Kamara, Jack, Davis, Arfield, Kent; Defoe.

Rangers substitutes: Foderingham, Katic, McCrorie, Coulibaly, Grezda, Candeias, Lafferty.

Over 72 hours on from their Old Firm defeat at Celtic on Sunday, Rangers are back in action this evening, taking on Hearts at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard will be desperate for a reaction after that battling 2-1 defeat, but he’s without suspended duo Andy Halliday and Alfredo Morelos tonight.

Allan McGregor starts in goal as usual, but Jon Flanagan is handed a rare start at left back, with Halliday and Borna Barisic both unavailable this evening.

James Tavernier, Joe Worrall and Connor Goldson make up the rest of the back four, whilst Sunday’s substitutes Glen Kamara and Steven Davis both come into midfield.

Ryan Jack joins them, but it’s unclear what formation Gerrard is playing tonight. It could be a 4-3-1-2 with Scott Arfield behind Ryan Kent and Jermain Defoe in attack, or 4-3-3 with Arfield filling in out wide.

Arfield did used to play on the left of midfield for Burnley, and the Canadian international may well see a return to that role tonight in what looks a strange selection for now.

Defoe is given the nod to replace Morelos, meaning Kyle Lafferty is back on the bench, alongside Wes Foderingham, Nikola Katic, Ross McCrorie, Lassana Coulibaly, Eros Grezda and Daniel Candeias.
