Nottingham Forest’s Championship fate rests on their final day encounter with Ipswich Town.

One of Blackburn Rovers, Nottingham Forest or Birmingham City will drop from the Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Birmingham take a two-point advantage into their fixture at Bristol City, with only goal difference keeping Forest above Blackburn, who occupy the final relegation place.

Forest began the season brightly, but nose-dived after Oliver Burke’s sale to RB Leipzig and are onto their third full-time or permanent manager in Mark Warburton.

The Reds have won just two of their eight games under the former Rangers boss, with both coming at home to teams in the play-offs.

Worryingly, all four of their defeats have come against bottom-half opposition – including Blackburn – which doesn’t bode well for this afternoon’s visit of Ipswich Town.

Mick McCarthy’s side have blown hot and cold of late, beating Newcastle United and losing to Rotherham, but have little to play for with a 15th-to-18-placed finish likely, barring a significant swing.
