Orjan Nyland keeps his place in goal, and will play behind a back four of Alan Hutton, James Chester, Axel Tuanzebe and Neil Taylor, with Whelan and Hourihane in front of them.
Ahmed Elmohamady and Albert Adomah feature out wide, with Jack Grealish in the No. 10 role behind lone striker Tammy Abraham, who will be hoping to score yet again.
Anwar El Ghazi and Henri Lansbury – two misfits under Steve Bruce – are on the bench alongside Mark Bunn, Mile Jedinak, Scott Hogan, Jonathan Kodjia and Bjarnason, though there is no sign of Yannick Bolasie.
Meanwhile, sixth place Norwich will hope for another win having beaten Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the weekend, with manager Daniel Farke making two changes to his side.
