Newcastle United and Liverpool will face each other at St. James’ Park in the Premier League today…

Newcastle United will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League today when they take on Liverpool at home.

The Magpies will head into the game at St. James’ Park on the back of a 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London.

Steve McClaren’s side are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just 10 points from 14 matches.

Meanwhile, Liverpool currently find themselves seventh in the standings with 23 points from 14 matches, six points behind fourth-place Manchester United with a game in hand.

The Reds are in great form at the moment and will be favourites to win against Newcastle at St. James’ Park today.

The Merseyside outfit will head into today’s encounter on the back of a 6-1 victory over Southampton away from home in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.
