Newcastle could potentially be within a point of Manchester United by the end of the evening if they secure a win in this game and Manchester United slip up against Arsenal.
Alan Pardew’s side haven’t won since they beat West Ham United away from home last month and they should be very determined to bounce back from consecutive defeats against Sunderland and Chelsea.
A win for Tottenham would put them level on points with Liverpool if Fulham can secure a win at Craven Cottage.
More significantly a win would mean a positive goal difference for Tim Sherwood’s side, allowing them to build on four points from a possible six since the hammering they were given by Manchester City at White Hart Lane.
