Newcastle United host Brentford in the Premier League this afternoon.

Newcastle United starting line-up: Karl Darlow; Vurnon Anita, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett; Christian Atsu, Jonjo Shelvey, Jack Colback, Yoan Gouffran; Ayoze Perez; Dwight Gayle.

Newcastle United substitutes: Matz Sels, DeAndre Yedlin, Achraf Lazaar, Grant Hanley, Isaac Hayden, Mohamed Diame, Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Brentford starting line-up: Daniel Bentley; Maxime Colin, Harley Dean, John Egan, Andreas Bjelland; Josh Clarke, Nico Yennaris, Ryan Woods, Lewis Macleod; Romaine Sawyers; Scott Hogan

Brentford substitutes: Jack Bonham, Sam Saunders, Josh McEachran, Alan McCormack, Konstantin Kerschbaumer, Sullay Kaikai, Yoann Barbet.

Newcastle United take on Brentford this afternoon, and will be looking for a third straight Championship win as they chase a spot in the top two.

The Magpies beat Rotherham United 1-0 before the international break, and have made just one change to their side as Matt Ritchie misses out through illness.

That means that Ayoze Perez comes into the team this afternoon, and he’ll support lone striker Dwight Gayle, with Christian Atsu and Yoan Gouffran featuring out wide.

Rafael Benitez is able to name a strong bench, featuring DeAndre Yedlin, Achraf Lazaar, Grant Hanley, Isaac Hayden, Mohamed Diame and Aleksandar Mitrovic, whilst Matz Sels is also a substitute having lost his spot as first-choice goalkeeper to Karl Darlow.

Meanwhile, Brentford have made two changes to their side that drew 0-0 with Wigan Athletic last time out, with Lasse Vibe and Alan McCormack out in favour of Ryan Woods and Lewis MacLeod.

Notable names Daniel Bentley, Romaine Sawyers and goal machine Scott Hogan all start, whilst Crystal Palace loanee Sullay Kaikai is on the bench.
