The Magpies make the long trip to Berkshire to take on Reading for tonight’s eagerly anticipated Championship clash, and will be looking for all three points to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Rafa Benitez’ side are on a fine run of form in the Championship, and have not lost since January 2nd, whilst Jaap Stam’s men go into tonight’s game on the back of an inconsistent run which has seen them win two, draw two and lose two of their last six outings.
Newcastle have the best away record in the division, and will be looking to make history at the Madejski tonight, where a win would see them break the club record of 13 away wins during a single campaign, which has stood for 25 years.

The Royals, meanwhile, have the second best home record in the division, recording 12 wins and four draws from their 18 matches thus far, and could climb as high as third with a victory tonight.
So something has got to give, and a high-tempo, enthralling contest is surely on the cards.
