Rangers travel to Fir Park to take on Motherwell this afternoon…
Rangers are back in league action today as they take on Motherwell – the team they beat in the Scottish Cup last weekend.
Kenny Miller’s two goals handed Rangers a late victory at Ibrox, and the veteran striker leads the attack this afternoon as Mark Warburton hands the veteran another start.
Barrie McKay and Michael O’Halloran – both linked with moves away this month – start out wide, whilst there are first league starts for two new signings.
Midfielders Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman, brought in from Arsenal and Bournemouth respectively, play in midfield alongside Andy Halliday, with a back four of James Tavernier, Rob Kiernan Clint Hill and Lee Wallace in place ahead of goalkeeper Wes Foderingham.
Matt Gilks is on the bench despite a move to Wigan edging ever closer, and he’s joined by fellow substitutes Philippe Senderos, Martyn Waghorn, Joe Dodoo, Josh Windass, Harry Forrester and Jason Holt.
Motherwell will be desperate to win having lost from 1-0 down against Rangers last weekend, a result which manager Mark McGhee found tough to take.
His starting line-up features Louis Moult, the club’s leading goalscorer who also found the net against Rangers last week, as well as Rangers-linked Chris Cadden, who starts in midfield.
Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald joins Moult in attack, and another former Bhoy – Stephen McManus leads the defence this afternoon, with starts for the likes of Steven Hammell, Carl McHugh and Craig Clay too.
New signings Russell Griffiths and Elliot Frear are both on the bench, alongside veteran Well hero Keith Lasley and winger Lionel Ainsworth among others.
