Confirmed Middlesbrough v West Ham lineups: Byram starts, Quina on the bench

Middlesbrough host West Ham United in the Premier League this afternoon…

Boro head into today’s game having drawn 0-0 away at Watford last weekend, and it’s just two points and no wins in the last four Premier League games for Aitor Karanka’s men.

With just one goal scored in that four-game run, Boro must start to score more goals, and Rudy Gestede and Patrick Bamford have been brought in – but both are only on the bench as Alvaro Negredo continues up front.

Arsenal loanee Calum Chambers starts in defence along with Bernard Espinoza, Ben Gibson and George Friend, whilst Adam Forshaw, Adam Clayton and Marten de Roon start in midifeld, with Adama Traore and Cristhian Stuani supporting Negredo.

Bamford and Gestede are joined on the bench by Grant Leadbitter, Stewart Downing, Viktor Fischer, Fabio and goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

Meanwhile, West Ham are coming off the back of a 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace, with Slaven Bilic keeping Sofiane Feghouli in the team after his goalscoring display last weekend.

Sam Byram starts at right back after a bright second half showing against Palace, with Angelo Ogbonna, Winston Reid and Aaron Cresswell joining him in defence.

Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang start in central midfield, with Feghouli, Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio supporting Andy Carroll in attack.

Jose Fonte isn’t available following his late move from Southampton on Friday, and Dimitri Payet remains out as he attempts to force a move away.

That leaves youngsters like Reece Oxford, Ashley Fletcher, Domingos Quina and Edmilson Fernandes on the bench, alongside Adrian, James Collins and Jonathan Calleri.
