Manchester United welcome Southampton to Old Trafford with Louis van Gaal’s side seeking to close the gap on second-placed Manchester City following the Blues’ 1-1 draw on Saturday.
United are currently 10 points behind the reigning champions but a victory this afternoon will cut that gap to seven points with plenty of football still to be played.
Southampton will know a win of their own will see them leapfrog today’s opponents and earn revenge following United’s 2-1 win at St Mary’s earlier this season.
That said, today’s hosts have a wonderful home record and can welcome back a number of previously injured stars, meaning Ronald Koeman’s men have a very tough task ahead of them.
