Manchester City host Liverpool in the Champions League this evening.

Manchester City starting line-up: Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, D. Silva, Sane, Sterling, B. Silva, Jesus.

Manchester City substitutes: Bravo, Aguero, Kompany, Foden, Gundogan, Zinchenko, Delph.

Liverpool starting line-up Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Firmino, Salah.

Liverpool substitutes: Mignolet, Clyne, Moreno, Klavan, Solanke, Ings, Woodburn.

Manchester City need goals this evening having lost the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Liverpool 3-0 last week, and Pep Guardiola has named an attacking line-up.

City also lost 3-2 to Manchester United on Saturday evening, and have a mountain to climb tonight as they attempt to reach the last four of the Champions League.

Ederson starts in goal, whilst only three recognised defenders – Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte – are named in the XI, with nobody really sure how Pep Guardiola will line up tonight.

Fernandinho, Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva start, whilst Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva will all be called upon to support Gabriel Jesus in attack.

That leaves Sergio Aguero on the bench, alongside Claudio Bravo, Vincent Kompany, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabian Delph.

Meanwhile, Liverpool rested many first team players as they drew 0-0 with Everton on Saturday afternoon, and know that a draw will send them into the semi-finals tonight.

Goalkeeper Loris Karius returns to face his former club this evening, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson flanking centre backs Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk in defence.

Ex-City midfielder James Milner starts alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whilst Mohamed Salah has been passed fit, and joins Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the Liverpool attack.

Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke are on the bench, alongside Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, Alberto Moreno, Ragnar Klavan and Ben Woodburn.
