Here is how Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will line-up for this afternoon’s match at the Etihad Stadium:
Manchester City starting XI: Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Nastasic, Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Toure, Nasri, Navas, Aguero, Negredo
Subs: Hart, Lescott, Richards, Garcia, Dzeko, Guidetti, Milner
Tottenham starting XI: Lloris, Walker, Kaboul, Dawson, Vertonghen, Paulinho, Sandro, Holtby, Lennon, Lamela, Soldado
Subs: Friedel,Chiriches, Townsend, Defoe, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Adebayor
With the Premier League arguably as open as it has ever been, neither Manchester City nor Tottenham will want to lose this afternoon and slip further behind those fighting it out at the top.
Given the Blues’ outstanding home form, they will be confident of extending it in today’s early kick-off. But Spurs’ impressive defensive record will mean we are unlikely to see a repeat of City’s recent free-scoring home displays.
A win for either side will send them into the top four at the expense of Southampton, but given what is at stake, don’t be surprised if this ends up a draw.
Tottenham are without Christian Eriksen, while Manuel Pellegrini still cannot call on the injured trio of Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Stevan Jovetic.
What do you think today’s result will be?
