This is it: the match plenty of people have been waiting for.
Barcelona are currently involved in the tightest title race in Europe while Manchester City have – until recently – been devastating at home. But tonight nothing else matters; just 90 minutes of football to determine who will be one step closer to the Champions League quarter-finals.
City may have won the FA Cup and the Premier League in recent seasons, but this is the one that will determine just how far they have come. If Manuel Pellegrini can guide the Blues to Europe’s biggest domestic prize, he will be forever a hero.
But to win the biggest competition you have to beat the biggest teams, and they do not come much bigger than Barcelona.
