Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield today hoping to take one big step towards securing a top four spot in the Premier League.

The Reds go into their final three games knowing that victory in each will secure a top four spot and a return to the Champions League, but they face a Southampton side that will have happy memories of their last trip to Merseyside.

Claude Puel’s men booked their place in this season’s EFL Cup final with a dramatic 1-0 win at Anfield thanks to a Shane Long goal, and they will be hoping for a repeat of that result following an extremely disappointing spell.

Dusan Tadic’s missed penalty against Hull means that they are without a win in three and desperately need an upturn in form if they hope to boost their chances of finishing in the top-half of the table.

And with Puel seemingly under growing pressure from the fans, three points against Liverpool today may help the Frenchman enormously.

Here is how the teams line up for this afternoon’s contest…
