Liverpool starting line-up: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Liverpool substitutes: Mignolet, Masterson, Moreno, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Ings, Solanke.

Manchester City starting line-up: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Laporte; Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Gundogan; D. Silva, Jesus, Sane.

Manchester City substitutes: Bravo, Stones, Danilo, Zinchenko, Delph, B. Silva, Sterling.

The Reds beat Porto in the last round of the competition, but now face a huge challenge against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s men beat City 4-3 in the Premier League back in January to end their unbeaten run, and he will be hoping for a similarly impressive display tonight.

Ex-City youngster Loris Karius starts in goal, whilst Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson form a famiilar back four.

Former City midfielder James Milner joins Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield, whilst Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will support striker Roberto Firmino.

Conor Masterson is handed a place on the bench due to Liverpool’s defensive injury crisis, joining Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno, Nathaniel Clyne, Georginio Wijnaldum, Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke.

Meanwhile, City are back on Merseyside again having beaten Everton 3-1 on Saturday evening, and will be looking for a strong performance in tonight’s away leg.

Ederson once again starts in goal, whilst Aymeric Laporte keeps his place at left back, joining Kyle Walker, Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi in the back four.

Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan all start in midfield, with David Silva and Leroy Sane supporting lone striker Gabriel Jesus, as Sergio Aguero is still out.

Former Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is on the bench, alongside Claudio Bravo, John Stones, Danilo, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabian Delph and Bernardo Silva.
