Confirmed Liverpool v Burnley line-ups: Firmino not even on the bench, Origi starts

Liverpool host Burnley in the Premier League this afternoon…

Liverpool starting line-up: Mignolet; Clyne, Matip, Klavan, Milner; Can, Lallana, Wijnaldum; Mane, Origi, Coutinho.

Liverpool substitutes: Karius, Lucas, Moreno, Wilson, Woodburn, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold.

Burnley starting line-up: Heaton; Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward; Boyd, Barton, Hendrick, Arfield; Gray, Barnes.

Burnley substitutes: Robinson, Tarkowski, Darikwa, Brady, Westwood, Agyei, Vokes.

The Reds hammered Arsenal 3-1 at Anfield last week, with Jurgen Klopp’s men turning in one of their best performances of 2017.

Klopp has to make do without star forward Roberto Firmino though, as an injury has ruled the Brazilian out of today’s clash despite hopes that he would be passed fit to at least make the bench.

Striker Divock Origi has been handed the start in his place, playing in the centre of the attack as Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho flank him out wide.

Emre Can starts in holding midfield with Jordan Henderson still out through injury, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana playing further ahead of him in support of the attack.

Simon Mignolet starts in goal again, whilst Nathaniel Clyne, Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and James Milner start across the back four, with Dejan Lovren not even on the bench.

Youngsters Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn are all on the bench, alongside Loris Karius, Lucas Leiva and Alberto Moreno.

Meanwhile, Burnley are without a win in four Premier League games, and were beaten 3-2 away at Swansea City last weekend.

Sean Dyche’s men still need points to assure themselves of Premier League safety, and getting anything out of today’s trip to Merseyside would be a bonus for the Clarets.

Dyche has gone with a familiar back four of Matthew Lowton, Michael Keane, Ben Mee and Steven Ward in front of goalkeeper Tom Heaton, whilst Joey Barton starts in midfield alongside George Boyd, Jeff Hendrick and Scott Arfield.

Andre Gray starts up front with Ashley Barnes, whilst the likes of James Tarkowski, Sam Vokes as well as January signings Ashley Westwood and Robbie Brady are all on the bench.
