Liverpool continue their defence of the Champions League crown in Belgium.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looks on during a Liverpool training session ahead of the Champions League group E match against KRC Genk at Melwood Training Ground on October 22, 2019 in...

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has named his team for tonight’s Champions League group stage match away to Genk, as per UEFA.com.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Alisson, Milner, Lovren, van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Substitutes – Adrian, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Henderson, Lallana, Brewster, Origi.

The headline news is that Mohamed Salah returns to the starting lineup after missing out against Manchester United at the weekend with an ankle injury.

Naby Keita also makes just his second start of the season after fitness and injury problems. He should make a big impact in the middle of the park. Supporters will be delighted to see his selection.

Rhian Brewster also makes a rare appearance on the bench, hoping to make his European bow for the club.

Klopp has named a strong team elsewhere, knowing that victory is required to make a push towards the knockout stages of the competition.

Liverpool lost all three of their away group stage matches last season before their incredible run to the final and ultimate glory. Also losing to Napoli in Italy this season, hard work is required to progress.

A victory at home to Salzburg has aided their chances of that and a further three points tonight would ensure they remain in second place at least in Group E.

With the talent and firepower to win, Liverpool are heavy favourites but must ensure their attitude and application levels are peaking. There are no easy games in this competition.

Can the Reds delight their supporters? It’s set to be a fascinating evening.
