Liverpool will be confident of getting off to a good start as the UEFA Youth League gets under way today.
The Reds have one of the best academy setups in the country and this is a great chance for the side to get some experience against a variety of European opponents.
There will be a mixture of players on show from a combination of younger players who have been playing in the under-21 side as well as regulars from the under-18 side.
The staggering stat from the under-18 displays this season is the 12 goals conceded, which needs to change if any defenders from that side get a chance in this competition.
By contrast the under-21 side has conceded just a single goal and has moved onto seven points in the under-21 Premier League, two points behind Chelsea who also feature in the Youth League this season.
Here’s to hoping the young Reds can get off to a flyer.
