Here is how Liverpool and Southampton will line up this weekend:

Liverpool welcome Southampton to Anfield for what is Jurgen Klopp’s first league match at Anfield.

The Reds are currently 12th in the Premier League with 13 points from a possible 27 to date while the Saints are ninth but have the same amount of points as today’s opponents.

Liverpool have a fine recent record against Southampton, winning the last three meetings and conceding only one goal in the process. But the Reds have drawn three of their last four league games and they will have to be at their best to overcome Ronald Koeman’s talented side this weekend.

Southampton are yet to lose a match away from St Mary’s in the league this season, a statistic that speaks volumes about the side Koeman has helped put together since his arrival on the south coast.

This is one of those matches where absolutely anything can happen and a score-draw may well be the most likely option at this stage.
