Leicester City host Liverpool on Monday in their first fixture since the sacking of Claudio Ranieri.

Remarkably, Leicester City’s awful week – which saw them dumped out of the FA Cup by Millwall, beaten in Seville and sack title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri – got even worse courtesy of Crystal Palace’s win against Middlesbrough, to leave the Foxes inside the bottom three for the first time all season.

Luckily, caretaker boss Craig Shakespeare has a full strength squad to choose from ahead of Liverpool’s visit and has opted to make one change from Wednesday’s Champions League tie, bringing in Shinji Okazaki instead of Ahmed Musa, with the exiled Leonardo Ulloa restored to the bench.

Liverpool may be well rested, with 16 days having passed since their previous outing – a 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur. Nevertheless, the Reds’ King Power Stadium trip has come too soon for trio Jordan Henderson, Dejan Loven and Daniel Sturridge, forcing manager Jurgen Klopp into one change; Emre Can replacing Henderson.

A win for the fifth-placed visitors would move them ahead of both Arsenal and Manchester City in the table.
