Preston North End starting line-up: Maxwell; Fisher, Storey, Davies, Earl; Johnson, Ledson; Barkhuizen, Harrop, Barker; Moult.

Preston North End substitutes: Rudd, Hughes, Huntington, Browne, Pearson, Burke, Nmecha.

It’s back to the Carabao Cup for both Leeds United and Preston North End tonight as the Championship takes a back seat when the two clubs meet at Elland Road tonight.

Leeds head into the game having beaten Norwich City 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, but Marcelo Bielsa has decided to ring the changes tonight in order to give fringe players an opportunity.

Jamal Blackman is given the nod in goal after sitting behind Bailey Peacock-Farrell for much of the season, whilst Jamie Shackleton, Conor Shaughnessy and Tom Pearce come in to join Pontus Jansson in defence.

Kalvin Phillips keeps his place in midfield, and is joined by Lewis Baker and tonight’s captain Stuart Dallas, with Tyler Roberts and Jack Harrison supporting Patrick Bamford in attack.

That means that a host of stars are on the bench, with Barry Douglas, Luke Ayling, Samu Saiz, Mateusz Klich, Ezgjan Alioski and Kemar Roofe joining Will Huffer as substitutes.

Preston are looking to bounce back after losing to Derby County on Saturday afternoon, and go with Chris Maxwell in goal ahead of Declan Rudd, who is on the bench.

Darnell Fisher keeps his place whilst Ben Davies captains the side, with youngsters Jordan Storey and Josh Earl joining them at the back for an out-of-form Lilywhites side.

Ryan Ledson partners Daniel Johnson in midfield, with Tom Barkhuizen, Josh Harrop and Manchester City loanee Brandon Barker supporting lone striker Louis Moult.

Leeds summer target Lukas Nmecha is only on the bench, alongside Rudd, ex-Leeds man Paul Huntington, Andrew Hughes, Alan Browne, Ben Pearson and Graham Burke.
