Leeds United have parted ways with Thomas Christiansen.
Leeds United have sacked manager Thomas Christiansen, the club has confirmed.
Leeds issued a statement on their official website, which read: “Leeds United can confirm that head coach Thomas Christiansen has left the club.
“Chairman Andrea Radrizzani and the Board of Directors would like to thank Thomas and his staff for their hard work over the past eight months.
“The club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Not a surprise
Christiansen’s sacking comes off the back of a 4-1 hammering by Cardiff City at Elland Road.
It was the second consecutive home game in which Leeds had conceded four goals.
Leeds have not won a match since Boxing Day, and their play-off chances are rapidly fading.
Christiansen took over from Garry Monk last summer and was a left-field appointment by the club, joining from Cypriot club APOEL Nicosia.
The worst result of Christiansen’s reign came in the FA Cup last month when Leeds were knocked out by League Two side Newport County.
