
Leeds United will be looking to celebrate their promotion to the Premier League in style this afternoon when they take on Derby County away from home at the Pride Park Stadium.
With West Bromwich Albion dropping points on Friday evening and Brentford failing to win their match on Saturday afternoon, Leeds have been promoted to the Premier League for the 2020-21 campaign as champions of the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have nothing to play for really between now and the end of the season, but one suspects that the players will want to end the campaign on a positive note and pick up maximum points from their final two matches.
As for Derby, the Rams are no longer in the running for the Championship playoffs and look set to finish in mid-table.
It remains to be seen if the Derby players give their Leeds counterpart a guard of honour this afternoon.
