Thomas Christiansen has selected his first Leeds United line-up for the specially arranged friendly.

Leeds United take on Harrogate Town this afternoon in a behind-closed-doors friendly and new manager Thomas Christiansen has opted to play completely different line-ups for each half.

There is little to take from the selections in terms of who will start when the new Championship campaign kicks off, with first-team regulars making up both selections alongside a number of under-23 players.

New signings Mateusz Klich, Felix Wiedwald and Madgers Gomes all feature, with the latter two starting the first half and the German goalkeeper between the posts for the second 45 minutes.

Other players of note include young defenders Paudie O’Connor and Paul McKay, previously overlooked striker Lee Erwin and midfielder Toumani Diagouraga, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town.

As expected, Giuseppe Bellusci is also in from the cold but who knows for how long?

It remains to be seen if Bellusci and Diagouraga can play their way back into the first-team fold at Leeds but it certainly seems they have not been discounted by Christiansen at this early stage of his tenure.

Pontus Jansson and Eunan O’Kane, who only returned to first-team training today after extended breaks, have not been considered for this clash, while Chris Wood is still on holiday after the Confederations Cup.

With all that in mind here is how Leeds will line up for the match against Harrogate as they seek to impress their new boss from the outset:

Leeds United first half XI: Green, Denton, Cooper, Diagouraga, O’Connor, Gomes, Bridcutt, Klich, Roofe, Doukara, Antonsson

Leeds United second half XI: Wiedwald, Berardi, P. McKay, Bellusci, Ayling, Dallas, Phillips, Vieira, Sacko, Hernandez, Erwin
