Kevin Toner failed to make an impact at Aston Villa after coming through the ranks.

Kevin Toner has decided to leave Aston Villa and join top-tier Irish side St. Patrick’s Athletic on a two-year deal ahead of the 2018 SSE Airtricity League season, as confirmed by the Saints’ official website.
The 21-year-old managed to make just four appearances for the Midlands giants after making his first professional appearance while on loan with then-National League side Kidderminster Harriers as a 19-year-old.

The centre-back had since been loaned to the likes of Walsall and Bradford City, before going on loan to Stevenage Town in the summer only for a knee injury to hold him back.
The eight-time Republic of Ireland Under-19 international made five appearances before suffering a knee injury with Stevenage, but did return in late October only to be sent off and fail to feature for the League Two side again.

Now, Toner has decided to chance his arm in the top division of Irish football with the Saints, as he looks to get his career back on track and put his injury demons behind him.
Saints begin the 2018 campaign with a difficult clash against reigning champions Cork City on February 16, and Toner will be hoping to be a part of the side that goes to battle in just under two months’ time.
