Huddersfield Town will be keen to take advantage of hosting the first leg of their play off semi-final with Sheffield Wednesday at home this weekend, as they look to battle their way to Wembley. The Terriers have been revolutionised by new manager David Wagner, who radically reshaped the squad over the summer.

However, Huddersfield haven’t prepared for the play offs particularly well, after losing their last two league games, conceding five goals in the process. David Wagner will be hoping their loss of momentum will not affect the side to greatly.

After coming so narrowly close to promotion last season, losing out at Wembley to Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvahal will be desperate to put things right this time around. The Owls have been in good form all season, and after strengthening their side in January, the club have looked nailed on for the play-offs for a while.

There’s no doubt that Sheffield Wednesday will try to use their play-off heartache from last season to their advantage this year. However, like Huddersfield Town, the Owls will not go into this game on the back of a win, after losing on the final day of the season to play off rivals Fulham, being defeated 1-2 at home.
