Huddersfield Town host Newcastle United in the Premier League this afternoon.
Huddersfield will be looking to pick up another win this afternoon having opened their first ever Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend.
David Wagner’s men were sensational at Selhurst Park, and their performance may have just given fans hope that they can stay in the top flight and avoid relegation this term.
Wagner has again gone with Jonas Lossl in goal, with Tommy Smith, Matthias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen, Christopher Schindler and Chris Lowe making up the back four this afternoon.
Philip Billing will partner Aaron Mooy in midfield, with Rajiv van La Parra, Tom Inc and Elias Kachunga supporting lone striker Steve Mounie, who hit the headlines with two goals against Crystal Palace last weekend.
Summer signings Scott Malone and Danny Williams are only on the bench, alongside Joel Coleman, Michael Hefele, Kasey Palmer, Joe Lolley and Collin Quaner.
Meanwhile, Newcastle opened their season with a 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, with Jonjo Shelvey’s red card leaving the Magpies in a hole.
Today, Rafael Benitez will hope to pick up the club’s first points of the new season with a trip to Huddersfield, where he won 3-1 in the Championship back in March.
Rob Elliot keeps his place in goal, whilst Chancel Mbemba is in at right back, with Javi Manquillo at left back in Paul Dummett’s absence, whilst Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark feature at centre back with Florian Lejeune out of action.
Isaac Hayden and Mikel Merino start in midfield with Shelvey suspended, whilst Christian Atsu, Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie will support Dwight Gayle in the final third.
New signing Joselu starts on the bench after joining from Stoke City, and he is joined by fellow substitutes Karl Darlow, Henri Saivet, Mohamed Diame, Rolando Aarons, Jacob Murphy and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
