Huddersfield host Aston Villa at the John Smith’s Stadium this evening.

Hosts Huddersfield head into the game having lost 3-1 at home to Newcastle United on Saturday, and they will hoping to hit back in style tonight.

David Wagner’s men remain in the hunt for an automatic promotion spot, and can keep the pressure on second-placed Brighton with a win over Villa.

Wagner is still without goalkeeper Danny Ward, meaning that Joel Coleman starts, with Luke Coddington on the bench.

Germans Chris Lowe, Michael Hefele and Christopher Schindler all start in defence alongside right back Tomy Smith, whilst Aaron Mooy and Jonathan Hogg still sit in midfield.

Isaiah Brown, Rajiv van La Parra and Elias Kachunga will all support lone striker Colin Quaner, with Nakhi Wells left on the bench.

Joining Wells and Coddington on the bench are Jon Gorenc Stankovic, Jack Payne, Martin Cranie, Joe Lolley and Philip Billing.

Meanwhile, Villa made it three wins in a row with a 2-1 victory over Rotherham United on Saturday, and they will be looking for another Yorkshire success tonight.

Manager Steve Bruce returns to face his former club, and will go with Sam Johnstone in goal, and a back four of James Bree, James Chester, Nathan Baker and Neil Taylor.

With Birkir Bjarnason and Jack Grealish both injured against Rotherham, Jordan Amavi starts on the left of midfield, with Albert Adomah on the right.

Henri Lansbury and Conor Hourihane start in midfield along with Mile Jedinak, whilst Jonathan Kodjia will lead the line in attack.

Villa are down to the bare bones at the moment, meaning Micah Richards is on the bench along with youngsters Callum O’Hare and Corey Taylor, with Mark Bunn, Keinan Davis, Tommy Elphick and Craig Gardner also named as substitutes.
