Here is how Fulham and Manchester City will line-up for this afternoon’s match at Craven Cottage:
Fulham starting XI: Stekelenburg, Riether, Senderos, Hughes, Riise, Dejagah, Karagounis, Parker, Sidwell, Richardson, Taarabt
Subs: Stockdale, Kasami, Ruiz, Kacaniklic, Duff, Amorebieta, Bent
Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Clichy, Kompany, Demichelis, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Toure, Nasri, Silva, Dzeko, Negredo
Subs: Pantilimon, Garcia, Boyata, Milner, Rodwell, Navas, Guidetti
Manchester City travel to Fulham this afternoon knowing they are only one tweak away from winning the league title at a canter. Unfortunately, that tweak is quite a large one – ensuring their away form goes some way to resembling their home form.
The Blues will know that three points will send them level on points with Arsenal, but Fulham are desperate for a victory of their own as they attempt to climb free of the relegation zone.
City’s away form may be patchy, but today’s hosts have failed to beat them in any of their last seven visits to London. Add to that the fact that Fulham have lost seven of their last eight league matches, and conceded twice as many goals as they have scored, and things are not looking good for Rene Meulensteen’s men.
That said, the Blues have only won half their matches against sides in the bottom half of the table, so Fulham will be ever the optimists…for now.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
