Manchester City go into the game as the overwhelming favourites and they will be confident after victory over Chelsea at the semi-final stage. City are yet to be beaten this month and their last defeat came away at Tottenham Hotspur in that 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane last month.
Wigan secured their place in the final with a solid 2-0 win over Millwall and the occasion will provide a welcome distraction from the pressures of the Premier League. Wigan are the underdogs and will have plenty of neutral support although they could have one eye on the important mid-week clash away to Arsenal.
