Everton host Sunderland in the Carabao Cup this evening.

Everton will be desperate to get back to winning ways this evening as they take on Sunderland in the Carabao Cup at Goodison Park tonight.

The Toffees have lost every game in September so far, having been beaten 3-0 by Tottenham, 3-0 by Atalanta and 4-0 by Manchester United.

Ronald Koeman desperately needs a result tonight, and he has rung the changes, with Maarten Stekelenburg coming back in for Jordan Pickford in goal.

Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Ashley Williams and Jonjoe Kenny all start across the back four, with Muhamed Besic, Tom Davies and Davy Klaassen all starting in midfield.

Nikola Vlasic starts alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sandro Ramirez in attack, as Everton attempt to grab a much-needed victory.

Pickford isn’t even named on the bench against his former club, with Joel Robles on the bench instead, alongside Cuco Martina, Idrissa Gueye, Aaron Lennon, Ademola Lookman, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Oumar Niasse.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are in a similarly torrid run of form, having claimed just one point from their last five games, which came in the 1-1 draw at Hull City on Saturday.

Jason Steele starts in goal this evening, with Donald Love, Billy Jones, Lamine Kone and Adam Matthews lining up across the back four, whilst ex-Everton duo Darron Gibson and Jack Rodwell join Didier Ndong in midfield.

Lynden Gooch and George Honeyman will support another former Everton youngster in James Vaughan, though Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway are ineligible to play against their parent club.

Bryan Oviedo makes his return to Goodison Park as a substitute, alongside Robbin Ruiter, Lee Cattermole, Callum McManaman, Ethan Robson, Jonny Williams and Joel Asoro.
