Everton take on Burnley in the Premier League this afternoon…
The Toffees head into today’s game in desperate need of another win, as whilst they beat Bournemouth 2-1 last weekend, the 2-2 Europa League draw with Apollon Limassol on Thursday has left a sour taste.
With another home game today, manager Ronald Koeman really needs to impress the Goodison Park faithful and ease some of the mounting pressure on him.
Koeman has today made a host of changes to his side, though Jordan Pickford starts in goal again, with Cuco Martina and ex-Burnley defender Michael Keane coming into defence alongside Ashley Williams and Leighton Baines.
Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye start in midfield, with Nikola Vlasic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin out wide, whilst Gylfi Sigurdsson will support lone striker Oumar Niasse, who scored twice in the win over Bournemouth last week.
That means that Wayne Rooney is only on the bench today, alongside Maarten Stekelenburg, Mason Holgate, Tom Davies, Davy Klaassen, Ademola Lookman and Sandro Ramirez.
Meanwhile, Burnley head into the game with an unbeaten away record, having won at Chelsea and picked up draws at Tottenham and Liverpool.
Manager Sean Dyche will be hoping for another positive away day this afternoon, with Nick Pope again in goal for the injured Tom Heaton.
Matthew Lowton, James Tarkoswki, Ben Mee and Stephen Ward make up the back four, whilst Jack Cork will play in midfield alongside Steven Defour and Jeff Hendrick.
Scott Arfield and Robbie Brady will be relied upon down the flanks, with Chris Wood leading the line after an impressive start to life at Turf Moor since joining from Leeds United last month.
Recent signing Anders Lindegaard is on the bench, alongside Kevin Long, Phil Bardsley, Ashley Westwood, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes.
