If Everton win this match, they are well and truly on for a Champions League place next season, while United will be further away from a Europa League spot, a fact David Moyes would have hardly believed when he swapped Goodison Park for Old Trafford last summer.
It is a game with a number of sub-plots, including the return of Moyes, Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini; while Roberto Martinez will no doubt be hoping to get one over the man he replaced.
That said, today’s hosts do not have the best record against United, winning just two of their last 18 league games at home to them. But having already beaten them at Old Trafford, they could do the double over their illustrious opponents for the first time since 1970.
