Everton take on Gor Mahia in a pre-season friendly this afternoon.

Everton starting line-up: Stekelenburg; Kenny, Williams, Jagielka, Connolly; Schneiderlin, McCarthy, Klaassen; Lookman, Rooney, Lennon.

Everton substitutes: Hewelt, Baines, Keane, Davies, Mirallas, Pennington, Calvert-Lewin, Gueye, Barry, Besic, Dowell.

Everton’s pre-season preparations get underway this afternoon as they take on Kenya’s Gor Mahia in Tanzania, with Ronald Koeman able to show off his new-look side.

Koeman has been busy in the transfer market this summer having brought in the likes of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney.

Whilst Pickford and Ramirez aren’t included today having been on international duty at the Under-21 European Championships earlier this summer, Klaassen starts in midfield and Rooney makes his second debut for the club in attack.

Maarten Stekelenburg starts in goal, whilst veteran defenders Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka will be flanked by youthful full backs Jonjoe Kenny and Callum Connolly.

Morgan Schneiderlin and James McCarthy join Klaassen in midfield, whilst Rooney will be given support in attack by Ademola Lookman and the returning Aaron Lennon.

Keane is named on the bench this afternoon, alongside Mateusz Hewelt, Leighton Baines, Tom Davies, Kevin Mirallas, Matthew Pennington, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Idrissa Gueye, Gareth Barry, Muhamed Besic and Kieran Dowell.
