Southampton go with former Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster in goal as they welcome the Magpies to St Mary’s Stadium tonight.

Newcastle looked into signing both Jan Bednarek and Mohammed Salisu in January; both start in the Southampton defence tonight.

Tino Livramento and Kyle Walker-Peters are the full backs, with Oriol Romeu and James Ward-Prowse in front of the back four.

Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi are the attacking midfielders, supporting Che Adams and Armando Broja up top.

The big news is in midfield with Bruno Guimaraes starting in the Newcastle engine room, joining Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock.

Chris Wood leads the attack with support from Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy on the flanks.

Teenager Lucas de Bolle makes the Newcastle bench tonight alongside Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett, Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Ritchie, Javi Manquillo, Miguel Almiron, Dwight Gayle and Sean Longstaff.
