Here is how Chelsea and Burnley will line up for this afternoon’s Premier League encounter:
Chelsea take on Burnley at Stamford Bridge this afternoon with Jose Mourinho’s side knowing they can, at least temporarily, widen the gap between them and second-placed Manchester City.
That gap is currently seven points, and with City not playing until this evening, Chelsea will want to deliver a psychological blow if the reigning champions still have aspirations of retaining their crown.
The last time Burnley won a league game way to Chelsea was in 1971, but in the six matches that followed they have picked up just a single point.
That would do very nicely this afternoon, with Sean Dyche’s side a point away from temporary safety although there is still a lot of football to be played.
Chelsea’s clean-sheet record at Stamford Bridge this season – 16 in their last 20 matches – tells its own story but if anyone can score against the Blues this afternoon it is the in-form and allegedly in-demand Danny Ings.
