Here is how Chelsea and Manchester City will line-up for this afternoon’s match at Stamford Bridge:
Chelsea starting XI: Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Cole, Lampard, Ramires, Oscar, Schurrle, Hazard, Torres
Subs: Schwarzer, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Mikel, Willian, Mata, Eto’o
Manchester City starting XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Nastasic, Clichy, Garcia, Fernandinho, Nasri, Toure, Silva, Aguero
Subs: Pantilimon, Navas, Kolarov, Dzeko, Negredo, Milner, Richards
With Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton and Everton all wining yesterday, Chelsea and Manchester City currently find themselves fifth and sixth respectively. But this afternoon, both managers’ focus will be on securing the three points that will show the naysayers their club is the one to challenge at the top of the table.
Chelsea have home advantage, against a team who have only recently started winning away. They also have a practically full squad to choose from.
City, on the other hand, are still without Vincent Kompany.
Jose Mourinho will take confidence from his side’s recent record against Manuel Pellegrini’s men. City have won only one of their last 15 matches at Stamford Bridge, losing 10. And if that does change this afternoon, City will be ending an unbeaten home run of 13 league matches.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
