Celtic continue their defence of the Scottish League Cup tonight.

Neil Lennon, Manager of Celtic gives his team instructions during the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox Stadium on September 01, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Neil Lennon has named his Celtic team for tonight’s Scottish League Cup clash at home to Partick Thistle, as per celticfc.net.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Gordon, Frimpong, Elhamed, Ajer, Hayes, McGregor, Ntcham, Rogic, Morgan, Bayo, Elyounoussi.

Substitutes – Forster, Hendry, Brown, Sinclair, Edouard, Bolongoli, Forrest.

The Hoops boss has gone with a rotated team for the fixture, believing he has the squad depth to comfortably progress into the semi-finals of the competition and rest some of his key stars.

The headline news is the debut of right-back Jeremie Frimpong. The teenager only joined the club at the end of the recent transfer window but clearly has caught the eye of Lennon.

He now has a massive opportunity to show Celtic Park just what he’s made of.

With an injury to Moritz Bauer and Christopher Jullien rested, Hatem Abd Elhamed moves into a central defensive spot.

It’s a big night for Vakoun Bayo too, who will have the chance to show he can fill in competently for star striker Odsonne Edouard.

The Ivorian showed on his last start he can be a lively and effective attacking option. He’ll be desperate to get on the scoresheet after having efforts awarded as own goals against Hearts.

Neil Lennon Head Coach of Celtic FC thanks the fans after the UEFA Europa League group E match between Stade Rennes FC and Celtic FC at Roazhon Park on September 19, 2019 in Rennes, France.

Unbeaten in nine matches, can Celtic make it ten-in-a-row tonight against lower league opposition?

Fans will be expecting it and Lennon’s team must ensure they show hunger and attacking ambition from the start, or risk facing another tricky tie like against Dunfermline Athletic.
