Celtic will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table and move further ahead of Rangers when they take on Kilmarnock away from home at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are at the top of the league standings with 57 points from 25 matches, five points clear of second-placed and bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers, who have played 26 games.

Rangers failed to win on Saturday afternoon, as Steven Gerrard’s side played out a goalless draw with St. Johnstone at Ibrox in the league.

Celtic will head into the match against Kilmarnock on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Valencia at home in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32.

The Hoops, though, are going strong in the league, and the Glasgow giants will be confident of picking up all three points against Kilmarnock this afternoon.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is seen during the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Celtic and Hibernian at Celtic Park on February 6, 2019 in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

The Bhoys have won all five of their league games in 2019, scoring 13 and conceding none, according to BBC Sport.
