Celtic take on St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership this evening…
Celtic starting line-up: Gordon; Gamboa, Simunovic, Boyata, Tierney; Bitton, Brown, Armstrong; Forrest, Sinclair, Dembele.
Celtic substitutes: De Vries, Izaguirre, Griffiths, Mackay-Steven, Roberts, Sviatchenko, McGregor.
Celtic are back in league action this afternoon, having beaten Albion Rovers 3-0 in Scottish Cup on Sunday afternoon, as they take on St Johnstone at Celtic Park.
The Bhoys sit 19 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, and can make that 22 with a win this evening, having dropped just two points so far this term.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has unsurprisingly named a strong side for this evening’s game, with Craig Gordon – today linked with Chelsea – in goal ahead of Dorus De Vries, who is only on the bench.
Cristian Gamboa starts at right back, whilst Dedryck Boyata is rewarded for a strong weekend display with a starting role alongside Jozo Simunovic at centre back, with Kieran Tierney on the left.
Nir Bitton is handed a rare start alongside Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong in midfield, whilst James Forrest and Scott Sinclair will support Moussa Dembele in attack.
That leaves Leigh Griffiths alongside De Vries on the bench, along with Emilio Izaguirre, Gary Mackay-Steven, Patrick Roberts, Erik Sviatchenko and Callum McGregor.
