Celtic take on Hearts in the Scottish League Cup this afternoon.

Celtic starting line-up: Bain; Lustig, Benkovic, Ajer, Tierney; Kouassi, Ntcham, Rogic; McGregor, Forrest, Edouard.

Celtic substitutes: Gordon, Hendry, Ralston, Hayes, Sinclair, Morgan, Christie.

Celtic are back in domestic action today having lost 2-0 at RB Leipzig in the Europa League on Thursday night, and will be looking to beat Hearts at Murrayfield today in order to reach the final of the Scottish League Cup.

The Bhoys will be favourites to win the game despite the fact that Hearts sit top of the Scottish Premiership table, and manager Brendan Rodgers is still really searching for his side’s top form.

He has made one surprise decision as Craig Gordon has been dropped to the bench against his former club, as Scott Bain comes in to start between the sticks.

Kristoffer Ajer returns to defence after a recent lay-off and joins Mikael Lustig, Filip Benkovic and Kieran Tierney in the back four, with Dedryck Boyata suspended for today’s game.

Eboue Kouassi starts in central midfield again with Scott Brown out, joining Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic in the heart of midfield having been handed a game against RB Leipzig.

Callum McGregor and James Forrest will start out wide, supporting lone striker Odsonne Edouard in the final third, with Rodgers naming a host of attacking options on the bench.

Jonny Hayes, Scott Sinclair, Lewis Morgan and Ryan Christie are all named as substitutes, alongside Gordon, Jack Hendry and Anthony Ralston.
