Celtic take on St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup today.

Celtic starting line-up: Bain; Toljan, Boyata, Simunovic, Hayes; Brown, McGregor, Christie; Forrest, Sinclair, Burke.

Celtic substitutes: Gordon, Bitton, Ntcham, Edouard, Lustig, Weah, Ajer.

Two of Celtic’s previous three games were against St Johnstone, beating them 2-0 twice in the league, and the pair meet in the cup today.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are at Parkhead once again having beaten Hibernian in midweek, and Rodgers will be hoping for a passage into the next round of the Scottish Cup.

Scott Bain starts in goal for the seventh game in a row having seemingly ousted Craig Gordon to become Celtic’s first-choice goalkeeper.

New signing Jeremy Toljan starts at right back for the second game in a row, with Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic at centre back, whilst there’s a surprise on the left as Jonny Hayes starts.

Scott Brown will sit in holding midfield, and will be aided by the more attack-minded duo of Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie in the Celtic engine room.

James Forrest makes a shock early return from a hamstring injury to start on the right, with Scott Sinclair on the left and Oliver Burke leading the attack.

That means that Timothy Weah will drop to the bench, alongside Gordon, Nir Bitton, Olivier Ntcham, Odsonne Edouard, Mikael Lustig and Kristoffer Ajer.
