Here is how Cardiff City and Liverpool will line-up for this afternoon’s match:
Cardiff City starting XI: Marshall, Fabio, Theophile-Catherine, Caulker, Cala, John, Medel, Kim, Mutch, Bellamy, Campbell
Subs: Lewis, Turner, Whittingham, Jones, Gunnarsson, Daehli, Zaha
Liverpool starting XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Agger, Skrtel, Gerrard, Allen, Henderson, Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge
Subs: Jones, Sakho, Cissokho, Lucas, Moses, Sterling, Aspas
Liverpool’s players and fans will no doubt have been watching the goings on at Chelsea today knowing that a victory for themselves could see them climb clear of Arsenal in the race to pip the Blues and Manchester City to the league title.
The Reds showed last weekend at Old Trafford just how impressive they can be on the road, and they will know that anything less than a victory against Cardiff City will undo much of the good work against the current champions.
That said, Liverpool have not won at the Welsh side since a 2-1 victory in April 1929, with the Bluebirds winning 18 of the previous 31 encounters.
