Burton Albion take on Reading in Championship action.
Reading manager Jaap Stam applauds fans after the match
After a sensational season, Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough may well be in line to pick up the Championship Manager of the Year award at the end of the season, after defying the odds, guiding Burton Albion to safety this season.
The Brewers have battled hard all season long, and recently picked up an excellent 2-1 win at home to Leeds United. Nigel Clough’s side have won two of their last three fixtures.
New Reading manager Jaap Stam will be delighted to have secured a place in the Championship play-offs this season, exceeding many fans’ expectations. The Royals have had a tough time in previous seasons, often closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs, but their new Dutch manager has turned them around.
Reading have won three of their last five games, losing the other two. Those defeats included a 3-2 away at Nottingham Forest and a 7-1 hammering away at Norwich City. Will Burton Albion be able to take advantage of the Royal’s recent away form?
