Brighton and Hove Albion take on Newcastle United this afternoon.

Brighton and Hove Albion return to the Amex Stadium this afternoon as they host Newcastle United, having lost 2-1 at Bournemouth last weekend.

With a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in their last home game, Brighton will be glad to be back home, and will now look for a second league win of the season today.

Mat Ryan starts in goal, whilst Bruno, Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy and Markus Suttner line up across the back four as Chris Hughton looks for a clean sheet.

Solly March and Anthony Knockaert feature out wide, with Davy Propper partnering Dale Stephens in midfield, whilst Pascal Gross will play slightly further forward.

Tomer Hemed starts up front, and will hope for a strong performance having impressed so much in Brighton’s last home win over West Brom.

Ex-Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul features on the bench alongside Uwe Hunemeier, Liam Rosenior, Ezequiel Schelotto, Jamie Murphy, Isaiah Brown and record signing Jose Izqueirdo.

Meanwhile, Newcastle head into today’s game having won their last three in the Premier League, having beaten West Ham United, Swansea City and Stoke City.

Rafael Benitez will be hoping to make that four in a row, and he returns to the Amex Stadium after beating Brighton 2-1 there back in April.

Rob Elliot starts in goal, whilst DeAndre Yedlin, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark and Chancel Mbemba make up the back four, which has been damaged by injuries to Florian Lejeune and Paul Dummett in recent weeks.

Isaac Hayden and Mikel Merino will shield the back four, allowing Christian Atsu, Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie to support striker Joselu in attack.

Karl Darlow, Javier Manquillo, Jesus Gamez, Jonjo Shelvey, Jacob Murphy, Mohamed Diame and Dwight Gayle are all on the bench for Newcastle, as they look to continue their winning run.
