Sheffield Wednesday's Fernando Forestieri celebrates after scoring their first goal

Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has made three changes for tonight’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.

The Owls, who are in search of their first away win in this season’s Championship, have omitted star man Fernando Forestieri, while Ross Wallace and Jack Hunt also drop to the bench at Ewood Park.

Carvalhal, who has a squad of 30 players at his disposal, will be wary of his side’s fitness ahead of Saturday’s visit of fellow promotion chasers Brighton & Hove Albion.

As such, fringe players Will Buckley, David Jones and Liam Palmer all come into Wednesday’s starting lineup.

A win for the Owls could take them into the top six for the first time since the end of last season, although Blackburn have experienced some resurgence of late and are looking for their third straight league win.

Saturday’s 2-1 success at Derby County lifted Rovers out of the bottom three and victory against the Yorkshire side could deliver yet more breathing space.

And manager Owen Coyle has stuck with the same side that started at the iPro Stadium, with match-winner Danny Graham on the bench.

Here’s how the two sides line up:
